Milan yet to agree Zam fee

Milan are being priced out of the running to sign World Cup-winning Italian full-back Gianluca Zambrotta from Barcelona, according to reports in Italy.
The Rossoneri are keen to bring the 31-year-old former Juventus full-back back to Serie A following a two-year spell in La Liga.
However, while Zambrotta is keen on joining Milan, an Italian football association spokesman claims the parties are just two million euros (£1.5million) from striking a deal.
"The difference is two million euros. The player hopes to come to Milan and the Barcelona management is aware of it," said a spokesman from an Italian football association.
"But Barca is an extremely expensive 'boutique'. They have no sooner opened the bidding than they are up 30, 40, or 50 million - figures that are not compatible with any budget

Milan open to Sheva return

Milan managing director Adriano Galliani has revealed the Italian giants remain interested in bringing Andrei Shevchenko back to the San Siro.
Shevchenko left Milan in 2006 to join Chelsea in a £30million transfer, but the Ukrainian striker has struggled for form and fitness at Stamford Bridge and is expected to leave this summer.
And Galliani has hinted that Milan, who are ready to overhaul their squad in the close-season after falling at the first knock-out hurdle in the UEFA Champions League and finishing fifth in Serie A, could offer Shevchenko an escape route.
Galliani has also suggested that manager Carlo Ancelotti was wrong not to include 31-year-old Shevchenko, who scored 127 goals in 208 appearances for Milan, in his list of transfer targets.
Speculation
"He is among the possible arrivals," Galliani told the Italian media. "Ancelotti has been wrong not to put him in the list of possible signings.
"In my opinion, Sheva could be inserted in the list of possible arrivals."
Galliani has also dismissed speculation that Milan are ready to sell striker Alberto Gilardino, who has been strongly linked with a move to Fiorentina.
"We have not yet had any negotiations," added Galliani when asked about Gilardino's status.
"We must sign a striker, but should Gilardino leave, we will sign two forwards."

Roberto Mancini's advisor has confirmed that his client has received no contact from Chelsea.

The former Internazionale coach left the Serie A champions on Wednesday and has been strongly linked with the vacant managerial post at Stamford Bridge.
Mancini has made no secret of his desire to coach a side capable of challenging for the UEFA Champions League and would get that opportunity with the Blues.
However, with the dust still settling on his deaprturee from Giuseppe Meazza, Maurizio de Giorgis has made it clear that no decision regarding his future has been made as yet.
Consequence
"He had a meeting with the president (Massimo Moratti) and they decided not to continue with him, as of yesterday Roberto Mancini is not the coach of Inter Milan anymore," the Italian's advisor told Sky Sports News.
"He is very disappointed of course, he was not expecting that to happen, but in football things can happen quickly and unexpectedly and this is one of those occasions.
"As of now there is no contact with Chelsea. Roberto Mancini is not a person or coach who likes to propose himself to a club, he waits for a club to look after him so we are in that position right now. We are not proposing Mancini to any club.
"It's a natural consequence of what has happened. Chelsea are one of the top five clubs in the world so it is more likely, if there will be any talk, there is more chances of it to happen now than before.
"There are chances but at the moment, as of today, there has been no official contact with Chelsea or any other team."

Italpetroli: No take over at Roma

ROME- Roma's parent company Italpetroli have denied reports the club is to be taken over by American billionaire George Soros.
Trading in the club's shares was temporarily suspended on Monday as the price rose to its highest in almost six years following increased speculation that Roma could be taken over as early as Tuesday.
Reports in Italy suggest Soros is ready to buy the club for 283 million euros, but Italpetroli insist a deal is not imminent.
"In reference to the news published repeatedly in the newspapers about the owners of AS Roma SpA, Italpetroli SpA, in its role as indirect controller, would like to point out the following," read an Italpetroli statement.
"Reminding everyone what has already been said in press statements on May 23 and 24, 2008, Italpetroli denies, once again, ever having received and/or accepting, directly or indirectly, any show of interest or offer related to the purchase of its own control in Roma, from the part of Inner Circle Sports and/or George Soros.
"Moreover, Italpetroli points out that they have not reached any agreement, directly or indirectly, or signed any pre-agreement, relating to such a deal, nor to being already on course to any process about its resignation.
"Finally, it points out that no meeting is planned between its own representatives and those of Inner Circle Sports with the purpose of signing an agreement for the sale of its shares in Roma.
"So, the news that has been published, and everything relevant to data and financial information, has to be considered not correct and without any foundation."
Roma's shares have risen 93% in the last six months, increasing the club's value to 195 million euros and trading was temporarily suspended after the share price rose to 1.47 euros - the highest since September 2002.

AC Milan: Friday surgery for Kaka

MILAN - AC Milan and Brazil midfielder Kaka will undergo knee surgery on Friday.
Brazil's national team doctor Jose Luis Runco will perform the operation on the world player of the year.
The Rossoneri issued a statement on club website www.acmilan.com late on Thursday evening which read: "AC Milan communicates that the footballer Kaka will on Friday be subjected to an arthroscopy on his left knee.
"The times of recovery will be made known at the end of the operation which will be done by professor Runco."
The 26-year-old travelled to Brazil earlier this week to see a specialist about his condition.
He is expected to be sidelined for around two weeks, making him ineligible for Brazil's upcoming friendlies with Canada and Venezuela and possibly next month's World Cup qualifiers away to Paraguay and at home to Argentina.

Inter: I will leave if Mancini stays, says Figo

BUCHAREST - Luis Figo has admitted he will leave Internazionale if Roberto Mancini remains as coach for next season.
The 35-year-old, who joined the Italian champions three seasons ago, has struggled to win a place in the team under Mancini and will look to move on if he continues as coach.
"If Internazionale get a new manager, I will have more incentive to carry on playing, otherwise it will be impossible", he said in Bucharest, where he was attending a charity game hosted by former Romania stars Gheorghe Popescu and Gheorghe Hagi.
Figo admitted he could have performed better this season, but insisted he was fit enough to continue playing.
He added: "I did not have a pleasant season. I acknowledge I could have done more, despite the injuries I suffered and the operation.
"I am in the condition to play for another season."
Figo also revealed he would like former Chelsea boss - and fellow Portuguese - Jose Mourinho to take over at the San Siro.
Asked if he would like the one-time Porto coach to come to Inter, Figo replied: "Absolutely, yes".

Wednesday May 28, 2008 MILAN - The agent of Roberto Mancini has indicated that his client is no longer the coach of Serie A outfit Internazionale, although an official announcement has yet to be made by the Italian champions.
Mancini looks to be on his way out of the club less than a fortnight after delivering the club's third consecutive Serie A title.
The 43-year-old's agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, indicated in an interview with Sportitalia television on Tuesday night that Mancini has left the club following a 25-minute meeting with Inter president Massimo Moratti earlier in the day.
De Giorgis also suggested that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been lined up as Mancini's replacement.
He told Sportitalia television: "Roberto never expected it to end like this.
"As an outsider, I could rationally understand that something was not right, but that is the way things have gone.
"Roberto is very disappointed also because he has not yet finished his job - he wanted to try and win even more league titles, and maybe even the Champions League.
"Now Mourinho will arrive and he has only got to repeat what has happened in the last few years.
"Roberto is now considering making a statement to avoid gossip and it should be a statement praising the president and those who worked with him.
"Certainly he is shocked and has taken it badly.
"I have spoken with him and he sounded quite down, but tomorrow will be even worse."
Mancini has endured a turbulent season at the San Siro, tendering his resignation in the immediate aftermath of the club's Champions League elimination by Liverpool in March only to be talked into a rethink by Moratti.
"After the Liverpool game, there was tension and maybe Roberto could have avoided it, but the president knows him well and when he apologises, he does so because he realises he has done wrong," De Giorgis continued.
"Roberto has a great quality of being a good person so he has never given his availability to anybody else and has always done his job.
"These last three months have been very testing and the press have not been fair towards Inter.
"The club maybe let things get carried away, destabilising the atmosphere with all this gossip. But he always felt a lot for Inter and to try and lift him, I told him that maybe he will now be able to get back the 10 years he has lost while in Milan.
"He thought he would have a month of holiday now before returning to Inter and continuing to win. Maybe now it will be a bit longer, but I hope somebody calls him [with a job offer] as early as tomorrow because it is never good to be out of work as a coach."
Reports in Italy suggest Mourinho arrived in Milan on Tuesday evening and may be presented as the club's new coach as early as Wednesday.
Mancini has been linked with the vacancy at Stamford Bridge, created by Saturday's sacking of Avram Grant.
