Aussie stars join Scotland

Scots boost World Cup hopes with Australians
Scotland have received a boost to their hopes of lifting the Rugby League World Cup later this year with the addition of three Australian National Rugby League stars to their squad.
Manly winger Michael Robertson became the latest to join the Scottish line-up after he was given approval this week.
Robertson, who was equal top tryscorer in 27 matches last season, joins forwards Keith Galloway (Wests Tigers) and Chris Armit (Canterbury Bulldogs) in representing the Scots during the tournament down under.
Organisers, the Rugby League World Cup, confirmed that the 25-year old, whose grandfather was born in Scotland and moved to Australia, became eligible after his ancestry papers were approved by England's Rugby Football League.
Ten nations will compete across 12 venues in the competition that runs from October 25 to November 22.
Scotland will play France in Canberra on October 26 and Fiji at the Central Coast in New South Wales on November 5.
Australia have held the title of World Champions since 1975.

Rugby Super 14: Flynn out of final

Monday May 26, 2008 CHRISTCHURCH - The Crusaders have confirmed that Corey Flynn has fractured his right arm and will miss Saturday's Super 14 final against the New South Wales Waratahs in Christchurch.
The hooker suffered the injury while tackling wing Hosea Gear in the 12th minute of last Saturday's 33-22 semi-final victory against the Hurricanes.
Flynn, who underwent surgery to stabilise the radius in his right arm on Sunday, is expected to be out for up to three months, which rules him out of contention for the New Zealand squad to be named the day after the Super 14 final.
The 27-year-old rake has not missed a match for the Crusaders since April 23, 2005, a sequence of 47 consecutive appearances.
Ti'i Paulo, who came on as Flynn's replacement in the semi-final, will start in the final at AMI Stadium with wider training group member Steve Fualau coming into the squad.
"It's hard losing a brother (Flynn) like that and he's such a big part of the team, it's definitely a shame," Paulo said.

Rugby Super 14: Business as usual for Crusaders

CHRISTCHURCH - It is business as usual in Christchurch this week as the Crusaders prepare for the Super 14 final.
While Saturday's match against the New South Wales Waratahs at AMI Stadium will be the swansong for coach Robbie Deans and veteran players Reuben Thorne and Caleb Ralph, no one in the Crusaders camp is focusing on that, least of all Deans.
Next week, Deans crosses the Tasman to take charge of the Australia team. But this week he is plotting the Australians' downfall as the Crusaders go in search of their seventh title, and fifth in Deans' reign which began in 2000.
Captain Richie McCaw has insisted there has been no talk about the need to send the highly-respected coach off in style.
"Obviously after the game you think about those things. We have got other guys going this year as well. But that is secondary and Robbie himself drives that," McCaw told The Press newspaper. "We have got to go out and play a final.
"We shouldn't need any extra motivation. That's the way we are going to approach it and that's the way we have got to.
"It's business as usual. I guess the outside influences are talking about it, but we just have to leave that to them and focus on what we do."
The Crusaders are used to appearances in the final, having been involved in nine since the competition began in 1996.
The Waratahs on the other hand will be playing in just their second after losing the 2005 showpiece 35-25 to the Crusaders.
Their last trip to Christchurch in March this year also ended in defeat but Waratahs hooker Adam Freier was buoyant they could reverse the trend on Saturday.
"There's definitely the confidence and belief now, and it's not just token in saying that," he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"We will go over there and play rugby against them. Don't be conservative. Don't be concerned about what they're doing.
"We're just going to worry about what we can do and do it well."
