Spanish emergency services say four workers have died in a construction accident at Valencia soccer club's new stadium.

The workers were killed Monday when their scaffolding collapsed and fell eight meters (around 25 feet).

The four were working on first-division Valencia's new Mestalla soccer stadium. The four included two Spaniards, an Ecuadorean and a Bolivian.

Initial reports said two people had died and two were injured. The spokesman said the two workers injured died later in a hospital in Valencia.

The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with department regulations.
