Soccer-Shakhtar Donetsk clinch Ukraine league and cup double

KIEV, May 17 (Reuters) - Shakhtar Donetsk beat city rivals Metalurg 4-1 on Saturday, the last day of the season, to clinch the Ukrainian title for the third time in the last four years.

Three first-half goals by Brazilian trio, Jadson, Ilsinho and Fernandinho put Shakhtar well in control before Olexander Kosyrin pulled one back for Metalurg shortly after the break.

Ukraine international Konstantyn Kravchenko added a fourth midway through the second half to seal victory.

The win give Shakhtar 74 points from 30 matches, putting them three points ahead of last year's champions Dynamo Kiev, who were held to a 2-2 draw at third-placed Metalist Kharkiv.

Shakhtar's title win completed a domestic double after they beat arch-rivals Dynamo 2-0 in the cup final 10 days ago. (Reporting by Gleb Garanich, writing by Gennady Fyodorov; editing by Justin Palmer)
